A day in the life of my tummy A couple of years ago I used to track macros pretty obsessively. I even tracked them everyday whilst preggers and would get cross with myself if I over ate a day. – I was quite restrictive limiting my intake to 1600kcal per day (right up until the day Ailsa appeared)with a very high protein to carbs&fat ratio. Once the mini monster arrived I realised just how unsustainable this was for me not to mention the fact I was seriously under eating as a new Mum attempting to BF – Its taken a while for my brain to stop chastising my mouth if I indulge a little but now I eat relatively intuitively and without restriction. I aim for at least 2000 calories per day but rather than striving for this day after day I total it up to 14000kcal per week and loosely track each day using MyFitnessPal. – The one thing I am obsessive about is my water intake so I drink at least 2.5-3l per day #thirsty – I enjoy a glass of prosecco at the weekend I eat chocolate every day and my favourite naughty food is pizza… and cake ! I could eat mozzarella for every meal with ricotta stuffed peppers and I think of coffee as an essential food group. – So why this post? Ive learnt that balance is the key to a healthy happy life. Some days Ill eat like this others ill scoff chocolate cake and coffee for every meal of the day along with a healthy helping of the whitest bread smothered in salted butter. And thats ok! Life would be super boring if you came down on yourself for indulging your sweet tooth or giving into cravings every now and again. Balance is everything having an end goal is great just dont forget to enjoy the process – And if your goal is to lose fat ignore the fads and diets the two words you need in your life are these… calorie deficit… that is all! – #food #iifym #balance #healthylifestyle #musclefooduk #tweetyourmeat #chocolateaddict #caloriecounting #macros #fitnessjourney #caloriedeficit
