Christmas is just around the corner.⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ So here’s a super short note from me on how to manage your diet and training this time of year. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Do your BEST but don’t stress it.⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ ​I’m not going to tell you to completely stop training and turn into a sloth for the next two weeks, I mean, you can if you want–but it’s probably better to continue training or being active in some capacity (walking for the win) because health ‘n stuff. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ I’m not going to tell you to be a complete asshole with your food intake just because lol Christmas #LoveYourself #Blessed–again, you can if you want, but learning how to enjoy food and drink *sensibly* is probably a good skill to cultivate. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ What I am going to do is remind you that what you do most of the time matters far more than what you do some of the time.⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Instead of worrying about what you do (or don’t do) at Christmas, Thanksgiving, Halloween, your birthday–whatever; be more concerned about what you do on all the other days. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Because those other days are where you spend the majority of your life and they’ll have a far bigger impact on your progress than the occasional day or two where you eat and drink more than usual. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Your fitness should add to your life not subtract from it.⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ That means enjoying this time of year with your friends and family. It only comes once a year, after all. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣ Eat some of Grandma’s Christmas cookies–she doesn’t really care about your abs or that you’re using this fancy app on your shmancy phone to track your food, but it’ll mean the world to her if you ate her cookies and told her how awesome she is.⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Get drunk if you want and kick the shit with your dad and uncle and let them regale you with tales of your youth and what an annoying little shit you were.⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Because remember: In a year from now, you’ll remember all the amazing memories you made with the people you love and not the fact you ate and drank a bit too much and gained like 5-10 lbs of water weight–y’know?⁣⁣⁣
