TWO REASONS PEOPLE are great at weight loss and not so great at weight maintenance. _ 1) They assume the harder the diet is the better itll work. I HATE this notion- the idea that getting fit and healthy has to FEEL hard if youre going to see any meaningful progress; otherwise you must be doing something wrong. Far too many people think that unless theyre in mental or physical diet misery theyre not doing something right. The truth is the process should be as easy as possible. Being healthy is about improving the quality of your life it is NOT about feeling like crap all the time. _ 2) If it doesnt produce IMMEDIATE results its not worth the effort. Impatience is what leads people to set ambitious fat loss goals with unrealistic time lines. Its what feeds into crash diets and quick fix schemes. But when it comes to lasting weight loss you have to play the long game. All or nothing behaviors would be fine if you could sustain them month after month and year after year but no one can. ( Not even physique competitors- thats why we have OFF SEASONS.) Instead of thinking just about the next few weeks think about the next few months. Consistency is the way to success so whatever youre doing has to be something you can see yourself CONTINUING to do day in and day out. _ Results like this (8 lbs down in 5 weeks) are achievable when you decide to finally QUIT THE DIET CYCLE. I understand that drastic results are satisfying but I honestly think its far more respectable to get healthy and STAY HEALTHY.
