A day in the life of my tummy A couple of years ago I used to track macros pretty obsessively. I even tracked them everyday whilst preggers and would get cross with myself if I over ate a day. – I was quite restrictive limiting my intake to 1600kcal per day (right up until the day Ailsa appeared)with a very high protein to carbs&fat ratio. Once the mini monster arrived I realised just how unsustainable this was for me not to mention the fact I was seriously under eating as a new Mum attempting to BF – Its taken a while for my brain to stop chastising my mouth if I indulge a little but now I eat relatively intuitively and without restriction. I aim for at least 2000 calories per day but rather than striving for this day after day I total it up to 14000kcal per week and loosely track each day using MyFitnessPal. – The one thing I am obsessive about is my water intake so I drink at least 2.5-3l per day #thirsty – I enjoy a glass of prosecco at the weekend I eat chocolate every day ...

A quick peek into what I ate on the days I had lunch/dinner plans with friends . . After my fair share of the holiday binge I began my diet on Jan 2nd. Ive lost 2kg (4.5lbs) in the past 8 days with NO CARDIO and by staying consistent with my diet. One of the biggest mistakes Ive made in the past was to be overly restrictive from the get-go. . This time I stuck to 3 simple rules ranked in order of importance: Caloric deficit . Hitting Protein goals. Carb timing (relatively lower carbs on non training days and high carbs for training days scheduled around my workouts) . . Instead of creating unsustainable rules like NO Carbs or ULTRA LOW SODIUM all the while cranking up hiit training & cardio simultaneously I ate according to those 3 simple rules & focused on recovery. . Word Repost Larry Hooper.fit I think we can all agree that life is better when were living in alignment with becoming the kind of person we truly want to be. And for a lot of us that means self-care through regular exercise and healthy eating. Life happens. There will be days when getting in your scheduled workout wont be feasible due to circumstances beyond your control. These are the moments that will test and ultimately define you. We may not always have the ability to control what happens TO us but we always have control over our response. One missed workout here and there is no big deal but allowing one workout to turn into two and then two turning into a week etc. is where things tend to get slippery. Before you know it six months has passed and youre kicking yourself for having to start all over again. Wouldnt it have been easier to have stayed the course? Damn! Back to just over 3 weeks ago when I had fell off the wagon big time Was doing packs of Lotus Biscoff UK Speculoos biscuits like they were nothing! was eating them like bowls of cereal I swear I did a whole pack and a half with a litre of milk for a snack and it clocked in @2000 calories Damn speculoos is like crack to me haha it all was a result of a cheat day… Cheat days always seem to do so much damage to me and I don’t mean physically I mean mentally. Putting massive emphasis on food for enjoyment restricting the following day- thus restricting ‘enjoyment’ losing all momentum that was built which is personally my biggest tool for staying on track AND all this combined made getting the ball rolling again massively difficult. I’ve learned a lot and now I’ve got my head strong I don’t plan on ever having cheat days again unless for a video challenge . I’ll still eat good food eat out but I won’t go over my calories and if I do I’ll have done the necessary cardio to compensate....

Still eating out reason why i LOVE flexible dieting (fact last night I ate a burger & icecream the night before we went for steak & wine) BUT eating mainly whole micro nutrient enriched foods. Thanks to Mike at Nova 3 for helping me with my macro adjustments & keeping me FULL. Hey I know why you cant stick to that diet you are on – Its because dieting sucks. And I think the word should be banned from existence. – Nonetheless I actually really know why you cant lose the weight – YOU ARE CUTTING OUT TOO MANY THINGS TOO QUICKLY. – Start small. I mean that. Dont go from eating out multiple times a day to crying into salads while you contemplate if you will ever taste real food again. – If you are currently eating 80% processed foods 20% fruits and veggies slowly transition to make that 50/50 and then eventually 80% whole foods 20% fun foods. Thats sustainable. Thats doable. – The more fruits and veggies you eat the more your body craves them. – The good thing about flexible nutrition though is that you still get the freedom to eat the fun foods when you want. – There is no cheating cause everyday you get the opportunity to treat yo self. – I dont know about you but thats the kind of diet I wanna be on. – If you feel me shoot a down below – #flexiblenutrition ...

Unimaginatively titled The Beltsander’s cookbook vol2 The layout will be broken down into high carb meals and desserts (perfect for post workout refuelling) and low carb meals and desserts (perfect for non training days) Of course all of the recipes should fit pretty much into anyone’s macros and nutritional goals but I feel this layout will work well for the majority of people who will pick up a copy.
